Fire Department Staff

Total staffing of the department consists of Full Time, Part Time and Paid On Call personnel.  Our full time staffing consist of a Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief of Operations, Deputy Chief/Fire Marshal, Administrative Assistant, Fire Inspector and one Firefighter. Our part time firefighting staff consists of 2 firefighters working 10 hours per weekday at four (4) of our stations. With paid-on-call firefghters our staffing is maintained at about 75 for the 5 stations.

Service Area

The primary service area is approximately 145 square miles which includes the City of Howell and the Townships of Cohoctah, Howell, Marion and Oceola. This area comprises of approximatley 45,000 residents.

Fire Stations

The Howell Area Fire Department operates five (5) engine companies out of the four (4) stations.
