Present: Chairman Bill Bamber, Vice Chairman Mike Coddington, Secretary Mark Fosdick, Treasurer Paul Rogers, Member Robert Hanvey, Fire Chief Jim Reed, Asst. Sec/Treas. Barb Souchick, Attorney Kevin Gentry

Resolution for Lease/Purchase of 2008 Pierce Fire Truck: MOTION by Mr. Rogers, SUPPORT by Mr. Fosdick to approve the Resolution titled Howell Area Fire Authority Resolution # 04-08 which states the terms of the lease/purchase through Oshkosh Capital for the 2008 Pierce Fire Truck in the amount of $431,533.00. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
Approval of Cost Recovery Ordinance: MOTION by Mr. Rogers, SUPPORT by Mr. Hanvey to approve the Ordinance titled Ordinance #1 Howell Area Fire Authority Ordinance for Emergency Incident and Incendiary Fire Response Cost Recovery as presented. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
Approval of the Non-Resident and Illegal Activity Fee Schedule: MOTION by Mr. Fosdick, SUPPORT by Mr. Coddington to approve the Non-Resident Fee Schedule with the words AND ILLEGAL ACTIVITY added to read HOWELL AREA FIRE AUTHORITY NON-RESIDENT AND ILLEGAL ACTIVITY FEE SCHEDULE 2008. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
ACCUMED Billing Service: MOTION by Mr. Rogers, SUPPORT by Mr. Coddington enter into the presented agreement with ACCUMED Billing Service and authorize Chief Reed to sign the Agreement. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
Appointment of Interim Fire Chief: MOTION by Mr. Fosdick, SUPPORT by Mr. Rogers to appoint Deputy Chief Andy Pless as the interim Fire Chief to commence at 1201 hrs on October 11, 2008 and serve in that position until the permanent Fire Chief reports for the first day of work. An increase of $2,400/yr to be added to the interim Fire Chief salary to be concurrent with the interim position. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
Fire Chief Position after Interim: Attorney Kevin Gentry prepared a presentation detailing the search options for hiring a Fire Chief. MOTION by Mr. Fosdick, SUPPORT by Mr. Coddington to post the Fire Chief position internally with a closing date of October 8, 2008, a salary range of $70,000 to $80,000 and the requirement that the applications for the Fire Chief position be hand delivered to Chairman Bamber at the Oceola Township during their hours of operation. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
Approve Payment of Bills and Payroll: MOTION by Mr. Rogers, SUPPORT by Mr. Fosdick to approve the payment of bills and payroll in the amount of $151,981.69 for period ending September 10, 2008. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
